OrthoNebraska is growing as a response to the continued growth of the Omaha metro and demand for orthopedic care.
OrthoNebraska is excited to offer expanded orthopedic urgent care offers at the Elkhorn location starting Monday, Oct. 2. The specialty urgent care will now be available to provide care to walk-in patients Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This is a tremendous service to the community, not only for athletes, but really people experiencing any acute injury," said Ryan Arnold, MD. "A quick, accurate diagnosis is critical in getting them back to what they love. By expanding hours and adding more physicians, we open up a ton of access to the type of specialty care more people deserve.”
Additionally, OrthoNebraska has recently added several new physicians. Jace Heiden, MD, and Michael Hall, DO, help OrthoNebraska better serve the local sports medicine community’s need for first aid, injury treatment and prevention.

In 2022, OrthoNebraska became the official team physicians of Omaha Athletics. OrthoNebraska’s team of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners provide sideline coverage, physicals and training room support for men’s and women’s basketball, hockey and volleyball games. OrthoNebraska also serves as the trusted voice on the sidelines for the Omaha Stormchasers, NSAA state final events in Omaha and many local area high schools.
A Bertrand, Nebraska native, Dr. Heiden is a fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon. He brings expertise gained from working with many different division one athletes at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Michael Hall, DO
"I can't imagine a greater purpose and privilege than helping patients return to the sports and activities they are passionate about, and to follow them back to thriving in their best form,” Dr. Heiden said.
Another unique part of OrthoNebraska that attracted Dr. Heiden is its hip arthroscopy program. Youth hip problems are on the rise – particularly in highly active young women – difficult to diagnose, and often require highly specialized surgery that only OrthoNebraska performs in the region. Charles Burt, MD, has focused his entire practice on hip arthroscopy over the past year, but Dr. Heiden will help meet the rising need for surgeons with experience performing this procedure.

Also joining OrthoNebraska in the fall are Michael Coffey, MD, a hand and wrist surgeon; Matthew Miller, MD, a neurosurgeon; and Michael Stojanovic, MD, a joint replacement surgeon. These providers will help OrthoNebraska provide consistent access to sub-specialized care – an expert for each body part – at each of their major locations: Aksarben, Council Bluffs, Elkhorn, Norfolk, and Oakview.
“I relocated from Oregon to Omaha because I believe in the quality of care that OrthoNebraska is providing,” said Dr. Miller. “At OrthoNebraska, our goal is to provide an excellent patient experience with the best possible outcome and I’m excited to join the team.”
