Nebraska men’s basketball will return to the Sanford Pentagon, this time to face a former conference rival.
NU will play Oklahoma in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Nov. 15.
It will be the third year in a row the Huskers play a nonconference game at the Pentagon. They beat Oregon State there in 2023 and lost to St. Mary’s in 2024.
Oklahoma was a 9 seed in the NCAA tournament in 2025, losing in the first round. Nebraska has played the OU once since leaving the Big 12 in 2011, an OU win in 2022.
“Oklahoma will be a very good test for us early in the season,” NU coach Fred Hoiberg said in a release. “I have a lot of respect for (OU coach) Porter Moser and his program, and they are coming off a season where they won 20 games and reached the NCAA Tournament. For our fans, it’s a chance to face an old conference rival in one of the most unique venues in college basketball.”
With the Sooners on the schedule, Nebraska could face up to four high-major opponents in non-conference play, the most since 2022. The Huskers will compete in the Hall of Fame Classic on Nov. 20 and 21, where they’ll play two of Kansas State, Mississippi State and New Mexico. The annual I-80 rivalry game against Creighton will take place in Lincoln.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series of former Big 12 members 105-83. Tipoff time and television information will be announced at a later date.
