Omaha Athletics took another step in its long-term plan to seamlessly enter the revenue-sharing era of college athletics.
UNO and Opendorse, the leading name, image and likeness marketplace, announced Tuesday that they've extended a partnership that began in 2022 and now, gives the Mavericks tailor-made tools to help navigate their tailor-made trek toward revenue sharing.
Founded by former Nebraska football player Blake Lawrence, Opendorse is providing a remote general manager for Omaha Athletics. UNO will also have on-site NIL education, a Mavs-branded NIL marketplace and team builder — a roster and cap management tool.
Omaha didn't opt in to revenue sharing for 2025-26, a choice Athletic Director Adrian Dowell told The World-Herald was always part of UNO's three-year plan.
This upcoming year is the second step, with Dowell and Omaha's administration waiting and watching to see how their peers, in both the Summit League and National Collegiate Hockey Conference, adjust to the new landscape.
