Police in a California city are investigating after a 44-year-old Lincoln woman died after being found trapped in a donation box last week.
It happened Aug. 5 in Lodi, a town of about 68,000 people in San Joaquin County in the heart of central California wine country.
Police there were called to a donation box near Elm Street and Ham Lane at about 6:10 p.m. on reports of a woman trapped in the box.
The Lodi News-Sentinel reported that a witness called police after seeing the woman with her head stuck in the box’s opening with her torso and legs hanging out.
