A popular Omaha barbecue restaurant that was located near 132 and Q Streets has moved a few miles north.
Smokin’ Barrel BBQ opened last week at 2457 S. 132nd St. in the Orchard Plaza strip mall. Its former location was at 13508 Discovery Drive.
Owner and pitmaster Wayne Dinges serves beef brisket, pulled pork, sausage, smoked turkey and spare ribs by the half-pound and on plates with one side and a drink. The restaurant also has sandwiches, including a couple with meat combinations, and family meals.
Sides include trail beans, coleslaw, potato salad and brisket chili.
It’s open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is closed Sunday and Monday.
