suchitra mattai: the fall through sep 7 artist talk Thursday, August 14 at 6 pm (5 pm cash bar) Join us for a conversation with artist Suchitra Mattai and Karin Campbell, Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art and the principal curator for the Riley Contemporary Artists Project Gallery. Mattai explores stories of migration and the search for identity that diasporic communities often experience. Comprising hundreds of colorful South Asian saris encircling a pool of broken glass, Suchitra Mattai: The Fall reflects on the collective trauma of her ancestors, indentured servants who were forcibly relocated to Guyana, and casts the gallery space as a site of healing and future imagining. General Public: $10 Joslyn Members: free Advance registration required at joslyn.org; walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Image: Suchitra Mattai (Indo-Caribbean, b.
